i was at a wedding saturday night. we were somewhere in between cake cutting and the father daughter dance when i looked down at my phone and slid right to look at the most recent news headlines. why is it commonplace in 2017 to see so much hate, bigotry, and racism in news headlines?
i listened to a podcast from the liturgists a few weeks ago, one about feminism and one about racism in america. i've been meaning to re listen to the episode about racism in america. it still exists, even though sometimes we might feel as if we're past that, as a country. just because we had Obama in office does not mean we, as a whole, are past having prejudice against another person because of something as simple as the color of skin they were born with. i am simply echoing what everyone has been saying for the past couple of days about the incidents in charlottesville, we need more love. hate has no place in america, and we can be representatives of love on a daily basis.

last summer i was longing to recreate these delicious overnight oats that i'd had at jonas reindl coffee on one of my last mornings in vienna. and last summer while in the process of trying to re-create the recipe, i spent some time in my room photographing all the ingredients and the process of putting them all together. i enjoyed taking the images so much and they're some of my favorite images i've ever spent time creating. i'm thinking that i want to start doing more food photography, just because i enjoy it. so keep an eye out because i am excited and thinking up all things i want to capture.
these disposable images, i couldn't help but edit them. sometimes editing is just too much fun. playing with colors and tones.
the images from this camera come from a weird span of time. some images are from the end of january, some i took just a couple of weeks ago. all good. all take me back to good moments.
